SPEARFISHING
STANDARDS & RULES

School Shoots – To promote new participants without intimidation
Juniors - Points only - Non Competitive
Amateurs/Newbees - You declare catagory
Pro/Am – Support of the school shoot philosophy
Make up your own team structure/Separate stringers
Points – One point per fish & one point per pound
Duration – 9:00 am until 2:00 pm
Game fish – Will not be counted in competitive stringers
Carp – Unlimited
Burbot – Unlimited
Utah Sucker – Unlimited

Pot Luck BBQ – All shoots where practical
Trophies – Will be awarded periodically
Finale – Lots of Great prizes and trophies
Finale – Total personal points from best Five (5) mandatory shoots
(100% rule applies on event stats)
Weight measurement - Certified scales will be at all shoots
We will help document new Utah record fish
All suggestions will be reviewed and considered

Challenge vs Reward
The challenge is to set a new (legal) Utah State spearfishing record!
The reward is a No Holds Bared Gift certificate to be used at Atlantis Divers in Vernal, Utah.

Parameters of the Reward are;
Catch Must be legally taken!
Must register the catch with Utah DWR Fisheries.
Must topple previous record by a minimum of two ounces.
Must provide (to Atlantis Divers) good photo/photos of the spearfisher holding the catch.
Give permission to post photo of at least the fish and the name of the spearfisher
on the Atlantis Divers website.
Categories
A gain of;
two to eight oz -- $25.00
eight + to sixteen oz -- $40.00
one + pound to five pounds -- $65.00
five + pounds to ten pounds -- $100.00
ten + pounds to twenty pounds -- $150.00
Over twenty pounds -- $250.00 Gift Certificates
